Are fathers entitled to 50/50 custody?

Sometimes. It's a question that's been asked many times, and with good reason. As a man, I've always felt that there was a 50/50 chance of me getting the kids if we split up, but it didn't make sense because mothers have historically done more housework than men. Every situation is different so you should speak with a lawyer rather than just relying on my information.

- If the mother is working full-time, she may not be able to take care of the kids alone while making enough income to support her family.

- The father might be too busy at work to be able to spend as much time with his children as he would like.

- Special occasions such as parent-teacher conferences might not work out if they are on opposite days or times.

Many people think that mothers are better suited to raising kids because they're the ones who give birth. In some cases, they're right—but not always, and even if they are right all the time, that doesn't mean it's fair. Just like men aren't entitled to equal pay for doing the same job as a woman, or to promotion just because there's a female in the company who's their senior, they also aren't entitled to equal treatment when it comes to child custody. The reality is that both parents should have equal rights regarding their kids, and no one should be given privileges due simply to their gender.
